As members of PCA, we have an excellent resource available to us. I’m referring to the Special Interest Groups located at www.pca.org/special-interest-groups.
If you are a new member or have yet to take advantage of the special interest group for your vehicle, you should. There is a wealth of information on each model Porsche, from your new beauty straight off the showroom floor to your beloved classic that just keeps getting better with age. Need to source a part on a 944? Interested in upgrading the sound system on a 997? Hear an odd engine noise? It’s all there. I’ve used the Cayman Register to locate lift points for jack stands, replacing spark plugs and brake pads, and a host of other information. Even if you don’t do your own work, it’s fun to just scan the forums. You’ll gain a better appreciation and familiarity of your Porsche.
In addition to the special interest groups, there are several non PCA
websites that the Porsche owner should know about. Planet-9.com is a massive information source for Cayman and Boxster owners. 6Speedonline.com has forums for just about any sports car including German, Italian, British, etc. Rennlist.com is a Porsche specific site that is a valuable resource with some great technical DIY information. And then there is FlatSixes.com which has a weekly digital newsletter to get your fix of all things Porsche.
Want to see what goes on behind the scenes of your St. Louis Region, PCA? Our Board will be meeting on Wednesday evening, July 13th at JML Audio in Fenton. Everyone is welcome to attend as we polish the details of upcoming events. Other highlights this month are on Saturday, July 23rd when Car Craft will be hosting an open house for PCA members at their certified Porsche body shop in Chesterfield Valley. On July 30th, our mid-Missouri members will be driving from Columbia to Jefferson City for dinner at Madison’s Cafe.
