President’s Message – June 2020

Greetings St. Louis Region PCA Members!

It’s been a strange 2 months, but I think I’m adjusting to it. While gatherings have been missing from our calendar these past 2 months, I hope you have been able to enjoy instead some individual activities, such as driving, wrenching, or car detailing. Hopefully, you’ve been able to keep in touch with family and friends via Zoom/Teams/Skype. Due to this technology, I’m actually seeing my out-of-town family more than before, which is pretty cool. And the PCA Board was able to still meet by holding a virtual meeting in May. I think it may have been the first.

To take advantage of less crowded roads (and lower gas prices) these days, Greg, one of our daughters, and I have taken a couple drives out towards the Washington, MO area and back. It’s great to get out of the house for just a little bit, roll down the windows for fresh air, and enjoy the 911 soundtrack! Based on Facebook posts, a lot of other members are also getting some seat time out on the twisty country roads. If you haven’t gone yet, you really should. There are some great roads not too far from St. Louis.

I’m sure you are all wondering when the club will start hosting social events again. Hopefully it will happen soon, since state and local restrictions on gatherings are starting to be lifted. Soon we should start seeing the PCA calendar start to fill in again.

Nancy

President’s Message – May 2020

Dear St. Louis Region PCA Members,

I hope you and your families are adjusting well to new ways of doing things and staying safe and healthy as a result. Most of the social aspects of this club have gone virtual, via our social media outlets, so if you haven’t yet, check them out! Members are on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, posting photos of their beautiful cars, and recommending routes to take for solo drives. You can also read about current events happening in the larger car world. With the nice Spring weather, a solo (or family household) drive may be in order for each of us, not only to recharge ourselves, but also to recharge the batteries in our cars!

Looking at our calendar, you’ll notice that the mandated stay-at-home orders have resulted in all of our events planned out to the middle of May being either cancelled or postponed. We are continuing to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and will continue to make revisions to the calendar as needed.

For events on the calendar past mid-May, there is the possibility of those needing to be cancelled or postponed as well, and if so, we’ll communicate these changes via the Plauderei. For changes occurring between Plauderei publications, we will use the PCA “enews” e-mail distribution, motorsportreg email notifications, and social media outlets to provide updates. If you have questions about any particular event, please contact the event organizer or post a question in any of our Social Media groups. Because our printed (hardcopy) Plauderei is published once a month and things are changing within each month, our electronic means of communications are the quickest ways to reach our members. So, if you aren’t currently set up to use our electronic communications outlets, maybe now’s a good time to get linked in!

Stay safe!

Nancy
