Greetings St. Louis Region Members!
Tischzeit / Thirsty Thursdays (TT) are back! Shortly after the January Plauderei was published, Steve and Gail Warren were dining at Anthonino’s Taverna. While they were there, they chatted with the manager. They asked if the restaurant would be able to host a PCA group dinner that would meet the current Covid regulations for safety. Since they could, Steve made arrangements, and so we had our first TT of 2021 Hopefully you received the email about that event. If not, please make sure your records are current with PCA national. We use the database of emails to communicate to our members in between Plauderei publications.
On a roll, Steve went ahead and organized the February TT, which will be at the new Schlafly Bankside Brewpub in St. Charles (in the location where Trailhead Brewery used to be). More details can be found in this newsletter. Also, please welcome our new Social Chair, Tim Singler! He will be organizing the TTs and Holiday Party later this year. If the name sounds familiar, yes, he’s Jim’s son.
In other exciting news, registration for Parade 2021 in French Lick, Indiana opens February 10, so mark your calendars. With the location within a short driving distance, this is the year for St. Louis Region members to go, for sure! And the Porsche St. Louis Spring HPDE registration opens February 21 for the extended WWT Track. We’re also trying something new this month – an outdoor star-gazing social! More info on these events can be found within this newsletter.
In Porsche news, the Taycan is now available to order in the base trim. It now comes in a rear-drive format with a lighter weight and price. And the Boxster 25 is here to commemorate its launch 25 years ago. Has it been 25 years already? Boy, that makes me feel old. I remember checking it out at the St. Louis Auto Show when it was new.
Speaking of the St. Louis Auto Show, you may have noticed that it didn’t happen last month. However the show organizers have rescheduled it for April 8 – 11 (assuming there won’t be covid restrictions keeping them from having the show), so that’s some-thing to look forward to this Spring!
Happy Motoring!
